Chukwueze talks about his goal against Bayern as he eyes Liverpool’s scalp
Samuel Chukwueze has talked about the goal against Bayern Munich that booked Villarreal’s place in the last four.
Villarreal suffered a 2-0 defeat in the semifinal first leg against Liverpool but Samuel Chukwueze believes it is still an open game.
The Nigerian winger while talking to Villarreal explained that when he was coming in as a substitute in the semifinal game against Bayern Munich, his manager Unai Emery told him he was going to score a goal.
Samuel Chukwueze also revealed that one of his teammates told him that he was going to get a goal, hence, the only thing in his head was scoring a goal.
Chukwueze eventually got the goal that sealed a 1-1 draw at Bayern Munich and an aggregate 2-1 win on the night.
The semifinal is a different ball game as Villarreal will have to overcome a 2-0 deficit against a strong Liverpool team at the Estadio de la Cerámica tonight.
And Samuel Chukwueze would be hoping he becomes the hero again to help Villarreal secure a historic UEFA Champions League final.
Should Villarreal defeat Liverpool in the semifinal, they would have faced three top teams en route to the final spot Juventus (2nd round), and Bayern Munich (quarterfinal).
