Chukwueze’s AC Milan dumped out of the Europa League by Roma
Goals from Gianluca Mancini and Paulo Dybala propelled Roma to a 2-1 victory over Samuel Chukwueze’s AC Milan thus dumping them out of the Europa League.
Roma overcame an early red card for defender Zeki Celik and a late header from AC Milan’s Matteo Gabbia.
The match began with both teams exhibiting physicality and intensity, engaging in fierce battles across the pitch. Roma seized the initiative, breaking the deadlock before the 15-minute mark as Gianluca Mancini capitalized on a rebound to slot home from close range, igniting jubilation among the home crowd.
Shortly after, Paulo Dybala added to Roma’s lead with a sensational curling effort from outside the box, leaving the Milan goalkeeper helpless as the ball found the back of the net.
However, Roma’s momentum was halted when Mehmet Zeki Celik received a red card for a reckless challenge on Rafael Leão, forcing them to play the remainder of the match with ten men.
Despite their numerical disadvantage, Roma showcased resilience and determination, thwarting Milan’s attacking endeavors with staunch defending. Although Milan pulled a goal back through Matteo Gabbia’s late header, Roma held on to secure victory and progress to the Europa League semifinals.
Despite the early setback of Celik’s red card, Roma’s early goals proved pivotal in securing their advancement to the next stage of the competition.
