Clash of the titans in NPFL as Akwa United tackle Kano Pillars in Matchday 27 encounter
Nasarawa United to take on Plateau United, Kwara United to host MFM
Matchday 27 of the 2020/21 NPFL season is set to take place on Sunday June 13th at various centres in the country.
At the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna, second-placed Kano Pillars will welcome the league’s leaders Akwa United in a top-of-the-table clash between both sides who are separated by just one point at the summit of the NPFL standings.
Nasarawa United will lock horns with Plateau United at the Lafia Township Stadium on the back of a vital home win last time out. The Solid Miners have performed well this season and currently occupy third place on the NPFL table.
Relegation-threatened FC Katsina United will play host to Enyimba at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium. The visitors will be boosted by the return of winger Anayo Iwuala and goalkeeper John Noble from Super Eagles duty.
Rivers United will take on Adamawa United at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe as they look to enter into the league’s top three. The Pride of Rivers won their last game in the league and will be looking to continue on that path.
Heartland FC will play host to Jigawa Golden Stars at the Dan Anyiam Stadium. The Naze Millionaires will be looking for an improved performance after they meekly fell to defeat at Akwa United last time out.
Wikki Tourists will be looking to keep up their good form and turn their draws into wins when they host an improved FC Ifeanyi Ubah at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.
Kwara United will be looking to bounce back from their defeat at the hands of FC Ifeanyi Ubah when they host MFM FC at the Kwara State Sports Complex. The Afonja Warriors remain in the running for the title and know that a win can be significant to their aspirations.
Abia Warriors will host Lobi Stars at the Okigwe Township Stadium as they look to end a run of five successive draws in the league. The Umuahia Landlords have suffered a dip in form since the resumption of the second half of the season and will be looking to arrest that dip.
Fresh from picking up their first win since January, Sunshine Stars will pay a visit to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu, where a battle with an underperforming Rangers International awaits them.
Warri Wolves will be looking to bounce back from their defeat at Nasarawa United when they host Dakkada FC at the Ozoro Poly Stadium. Both sides lost in the last round of fixtures and will be aiming to pick up wins in their games.
