In a blockbuster announcement, former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is set to be Anthony Joshua’s next formidable opponent.
Matchroom and Queensberry officially confirmed the epic showdown between Ngannou and Joshua on Friday evening, sending shockwaves through the world of combat sports.
Eddie Hearn, representing Matchroom Boxing, broke the news with a tweet that read, “Tonight we confirm it’s a done deal! @anthonyjoshua v @francis_ngannou collide on a huge night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – press conference Jan 15 in London with full details dropping soon!”

In his last fight, Anthony Joshua, bagged a convincing victory over Otto Wallin in Saudi Arabia last December, and will enter the ring as the favorite against Ngannou.
The bout is set against the backdrop of the current heavyweight landscape, where Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk hold the major titles. The two will engage in an eagerly awaited showdown on February 17, also in Saudi Arabia, in what promises to be an uncontested match for heavyweight supremacy.
