Classy Manchester City breeze into UCL semis
Guardiola leads Manchester City to first Champions League semi-final since 2016
Manchester City booked their passage to the semifinals of this season’s UEFA Champions League following a comeback 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park. Having won the first leg 2-1, Manchester City go through with an aggregate scoreline of 4-2.
Borussia Dortmund took the lead on their own turf when 17 year old English midfielder Jude Bellingham scored his first ever Champions League goal in the first half of the encounter, putting his side in front on away goals in the tie. It took time, but Manchester City equalised from the spot through Algerian winger, Riyad Mahrez in the 55th minute of the game. A late strike from English youngster Phil Foden was enough for Manchester City to turn around the game and comfortably qualify for the semi-final.
Manchester City will face Mauricio Pochettino and PSG in the semifinals as they would try to pick up a ticket for the final over two legs.
