Cole Palmer: “We’re Not Afraid of PSG – We’ve Got a Plan”

Chelsea star Cole Palmer says his team is ready to face Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the FIFA Club World Cup final on Sunday, and they are not afraid, even though PSG have looked very strong.
PSG has been in top form during the tournament, beating:
-
Inter Miami 4-0
-
Bayern Munich 2-0
-
Real Madrid 4-0
They have not conceded a single goal in the knockout rounds, scoring 10 goals overall. Their 4-0 semi-final win over Real Madrid showed just how dangerous they are, with goals from Fabian Ruiz (2), Ousmane Dembele, and Goncalo Ramos.
Chelsea’s Journey to the Final
Chelsea’s road to the final wasn’t as dominant but still impressive. They beat:
-
Benfica 4-1 after extra time
-
Palmeiras 2-1
-
Fluminense 2-0
In the semi-final, new signing Joao Pedro scored both goals, showing Chelsea’s own attacking strength.
Palmer Confident Despite PSG’s Strength
Speaking to DAZN ahead of the final, which takes place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Palmer admitted PSG is “probably the best team in the world.” He watched them beat Real Madrid and knows they are strong all over the pitch.
But Palmer said Chelsea is confident and ready for the challenge.
“We know it’s going to be a tough game, but it’s a final. We’re excited. Everyone’s ready,” Palmer said. “You want to play against the best team — and they probably are — but we’re ready.”
Chelsea Has a Plan
Even though PSG looks unbeatable, Palmer made it clear that Chelsea has been preparing carefully.
“They do everything well, we’ve watched the games,” he said. “But we’ve got a plan, and we’re going to try and make it work.”
The Club World Cup final kicks off at 8 PM on Sunday, July 13.
