Courtois could be out for up to ONE month with ankle injury

Real Madrid have revealed that Thibaut Courtois has suffered an ankle injury.

The Belgian goalkeeper could be out for up to a month with the injury and will not travel to Germany for the Audi Cup, which gets underway on Tuesday.

Courtois joins Brahim Diaz, Ferland Mendy, Marco Asensio and Luka Jovic on the treatment table after a costly pre-season thus far.

“Following the tests carried out by the Real Madrid medical department on our player, Thibaut Courtois, he has been diagnosed with a grade 2 sprain to his left ankle,” Real Madrid said in a statement.

“His recovery will continue to be assessed.”

Keylor Navas, Andriy Lunin and Diego Altube will travel to Munich for the Audi Cup ahead of a semi-final against Tottenham Hotspur at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday evening.
