Coventry City complete Taiwo Awoniyi transfer
Coventry City have completed the permanent signing of Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi from Nottingham Forest.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says both clubs have agreed the deal, with Awoniyi completing his medical.
The 29-year-old Super Eagles striker will join Frank Lampard’s Coventry squad as the club look to strengthen their attack and push for promotion.
Awoniyi spent several years at Nottingham Forest, making more than 100 appearances. He played an important role in the club’s promotion to the Premier League and their fight to stay in the top flight.
Forest fans have thanked the Nigerian striker for his efforts. Some supporters said the club may have been relegated without his contribution, while others called for him to receive a proper farewell.
Coventry fans are also excited about the signing and believe Awoniyi can help the club’s promotion hopes under Lampard.
