Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly agrees to new Al Nassr contract
Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly agreed in principle to extend his contract at Al Nassr by one more year, which will keep him at the club until the end of next season.
At 40 years old, Ronaldo has become the face of Saudi Arabian football’s push to sign top European stars.
His current two-and-a-half-year contract, worth an estimated €200 million per year, was set to expire in June. However, according to AFP and Goal, he has now reached a verbal agreement for a one-year extension.
Ronaldo has been linked with moves to other clubs, including his former team, Sporting Lisbon. Recently, he denied rumours that he would return there.
Ronaldo has also played a key role in promoting football and other sports in Saudi Arabia, making it unlikely he would leave anytime soon.
An Al Nassr official told AFP that the extension is not yet signed but that both sides have agreed to it in principle. The official added that an announcement will be made in the coming days.
