Cristiano Ronaldo scores 100th goal in Saudi Arabia as Al-Nassr down Al-Khaleej
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 100th goal in Saudi Arabia as Al-Nassr won 3-1 against Al-Khaleej at the Prince Mohamed bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam on Tuesday.
Al-Khaleej were down to 10 men after defender Saeed Al Hamsal was sent off in the 34th minute, which made their chances of winning much harder.
Ronaldo put Al-Nassr ahead in the 65th minute, scoring with a shot into the bottom left corner after an assist from Otávio.
However, Al-Khaleej equalised in the 80th minute with a penalty from Kostas Fortounis, after Ali Lajami’s handball in the box.
Al-Nassr responded quickly, with Sultan Al-Ghannam scoring just a minute later from close range.
Ronaldo then sealed the win with a tap-in for his second goal, after being set up by Saad Hussain Haqawi.
With 32 points from 16 games, Al-Nassr moved up to third in the Saudi Pro League, while Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad lead the table with 40 points each.
