Cristiano Ronaldo scores twice to inspire Al Nassr to a 4-3 win over Al Ahli in the Saudi Arabia Pro League. SportsRation reports.
The Portuguese superstar fired Al Nassr in front at Mrsool Park after four minutes. That goal came off a Sadio Mane assist.
Talisca doubled the lead for Al Nassr in the 17th minute before former FC Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie scored to halve the deficit for Al Ahli.
Talisca then made it 3-1 for Al Nassr just before the break.
In the second half, Algerian winger Riyadh Mahrez scored from the penalty spot for Al Ahli but Cristiano Ronaldo restored Al Nasser’s two goal lead in the 52nd minute.
Al Brikan made it 4-3 to setup a frantic finale for Al Nassr who held on to seal a fifth consecutive win and go level with defeated Al Ahli in 5th place.
Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored nine goals in five games for the Knights, a significant contribution for a 38-year old.
In his post match comments, a visibly excited Ronaldo said he was still ambitious and happy to win.
Ronaldo said ” For the fans it was an amazing match. We are happy, we are now at the top of the table. I still love the football, even with my age.
” I still love to win, to score goals. But the most important is the team.”
