Cristiano Ronaldo’s Double Helps Al-Nassr Beat Al-Hilal and Move Up to Third
Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in the second half to give Al-Nassr a 2-1 win over Al-Hilal, lifting them to third place in the Saudi Pro League. It was Ronaldo’s first time scoring against Al-Hilal after four previous attempts, and the goals took his league tally to 70.
The first half saw few chances, with efforts from Sadio Mane and Jhon Duran both blocked. Just before the break, Al-Nassr took the lead through Ali Al Hassan, who curled in a brilliant shot from the edge of the box.
Soon after the restart, Ronaldo doubled the lead with a left-footed finish after a smart pass from Mane. Al-Hilal pulled one back around the hour mark when Ali Al Bulayhi headed in from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s corner.
Ronaldo Seals the Win Late On
Al-Hilal pushed for an equaliser, and Marcos Leonardo came close, but their chances faded when Moteb Al Harbi handled the ball in the box near the end of the game. Ronaldo calmly converted the penalty to seal the win for Al-Nassr, managed by Stefano Pioli.
At 40 years old, Ronaldo remains vital for Al-Nassr. He is the league’s top scorer this season with 21 goals, and this is his 15th season scoring 20 or more league goals in his career.
Al-Nassr’s Strong Start to 2025
Al-Nassr are in great form in 2025, collecting 29 points—six more than Al-Hilal’s 23. Their win was deserved, with an expected goals (xG) rating of 2.37 from 18 shots, compared to Al-Hilal’s 1.61 from 16 attempts. Jorge Jesus’ team struggled for accuracy, with only three shots on target.
The stats show how effective and well-organised Al-Nassr were, making the most of their chances and showing strong tactical discipline. This performance boosts their chances of finishing in the top two this season.
Ronaldo’s consistent goal-scoring and leadership continue to be key for Al-Nassr as they chase more success. His ability to deliver in big moments proves once again why he is considered one of football’s greatest players.
