Curry drops 40 as Warriors overcome 20-point half-time deficit to take game 1 in WCF

Stephen Curry dropped 40 points as Golden State Warriors overcame a 20 points half-time deficit to beat San Antonio Spurs 113-111 in game 1 of the Western Conference Final.

Golden  State Warriors came into the tie full of confidence having swept Portland Trail Blazers and Utah Jazz in the quarter-finals and semi-final before setting up a final against strong Spurs.

The clash actually lived to his pre match billings as the clash between the teams with the best NBA regular season records laid it all down.

Surprisingly it was Spurs who are without their star point guard Tony Parker who ran in front with 20 points lead at half time behind Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge performances but in the second half Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant turned this around.

Leonard left in the third quarter after he re-injured his left ankle, and the Warriors capitalized with an 18-0 run.

Kevin Durant scored 10 straight points during a key fourth-quarter stretch on the way to 34 points, while Zaza Pachulia had 11 points and nine rebounds.

Leonard had 26 points and eight rebounds. LaMarcus Aldridge delivered another clutch playoff performance with 28 points and eight boards.
