Cyriel Dessers speaks on his journey to football
New Glasgow Rangers signing Cyriel Dessers has spoken of his journey to professional football which was his plan B.
The 4-cap Nigeria International said he was in school pursuing a degree in law before the chance to play football professionally beckoned.
When asked of the vocation he will be into if he wasn’t a footballer Cyriel Dessers told Rangers TV;
“I studied at law school for a bit, so probably a lawyer.
” I became a professional footballer quite late, and for me studying was always plan A, and football was plan B.
“So I started law school, I did it for two years, and then I got the chance to become a professional football player, and of course, I went for it.
“Now I’m here[Rangers], so I think I made the good choice.” the striker concluded.
Dessers 29, started his career at Belgium club OH Leuven in the 2013/2014 season. The forward has gone on on to represent Lokeren , NAC Breda, Heracles, Utrecht, Genk, Feyenord (loan), Cremonese from where he joined Glasgow Rangers last week.
