Cyriel Dessers Stars in Rangers’ 4-2 Comeback Win Over Kilmarnock

Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers played a key role in Rangers’ thrilling 4-2 victory over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Wednesday night, scoring twice to help his side make a remarkable comeback.

Rangers were 2-0 down early in the match, but under new manager Darren Ferguson, they fought back to secure an exciting win.

Kilmarnock took the lead when Jacob Wright scored, and Brad Lyons doubled their advantage in the 14th minute. However, Rangers pulled one back before halftime through Václav Černý, setting the stage for an action-packed second half.

Dessers, who has been in great form this season, equalised for Rangers in the 53rd minute, finishing off a pass from captain James Tavernier.

The Nigerian striker then gave Rangers the lead in the 62nd minute, converting a pass from Ridvan Yılmaz to complete the comeback.

In the final moments, Nedim Bajrami scored a fourth goal for Rangers to make the victory secure and ensure there was no way back for Kilmarnock.

Ferguson, who has praised Dessers’ abilities, chose to start him alongside Moroccan forward Hamza Igamane, a decision that paid off.

Dessers has now scored 20 goals and provided six assists in 41 matches for Rangers this season.

With his impressive form, Dessers will be hoping to earn a place in Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
