Cyril Olisema linked with NPFL return
Former Akwa United FC midfielder Cyril Olisema is linked with a return to the Nigeria Premier Football League, reports SportsRation.
According to reliable sources within the camp of Enyimba FC, Cyril Olisema is among the players who have agreed to join the People’s Elephants as they reinforce their squad ahead of the 2024/2025 season.
Olisema is one of the most established names in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), having achieved great success during previous spells at Enyimba FC and Akwa United FC.
Cyril Olisema’s breakthrough season came in 2015 when he captained the Late Maurice Cooreman-tutored Ikorodu United to NPFL promotion.
At the end of that season, Cooreman and Olisema moved to Akwa United FC, where he made his name and became a fan favorite in Uyo.
In his first stint with the Promise Keepers, Olisema was a fan favorite until a move to Enyimba International FC in 2019.
Cyril Olisema joined Saudi Arabian side Al Khaleej in 2022, but things did not go as planned, prompting Akwa United FC to re-sign the enterprising midfielder.
At the start of the 2023/2024 season, the midfielder made another move abroad but is now set to rejoin one of his old clubs, Enyimba FC.
