Dakkada FC supporter Oyiza restates commitment to club despite impending NPFL relegation
Foremost Dakkada FC supporter Hope Oyiza has restated her commitment to the club despite impending relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football league – NPFL.
This comes hours after Dakkada FC suffered a 3-0 away loss to Abia Warriors FC at the Umuahia Township Stadium in a matchday 16 clash on Sunday April 30, 2023.
Over the last 4-years, Oyiza has shown unparalleled support for the Uyo based club and will keep faith even when faced with demotion from the top-flight.
Oyiza who runs the LUNA Hope Charity Foundation took to her Facebook handle with memories of her moments with the club and a vow to stay with the club ” come NNL, NLO and any other NN that might come after.”
She wrote ” Yesterday, my team Dakkada FC was officially relegated to NNL after spending 4 years in the NPFL. I had to cancel 2 important meetings just to be in Umuahia to watch my team play and experience my first away game and I have no single regret.”
” I was there in the rain capturing the most beautiful moments I would forever cherish and my greatest highlight was watching the boys play their very best until the final whistle was blown. I have been an ardent supporter for the past 4 years and never for once have I regretted loving this club.
” Dakkada has opened my eyes to greater things, made me enjoy good football, brought amazing footballers and friends along my way and taught me alot about hard-work, patience and the power of last minute.
” I looked around the other 19 clubs and none has even captured 1% of my heart so I guess I am stuck with this team for as long as her existence is protected.
” Dear Team, come NNL, NLO and any other NN that might come after, you will always find me beside you. I would choose you over NPFL all day and all-night, so just know that it’s okay to fail sometimes, most life lessons are packed in our failure. Hold your head high because you gave it your best.
” Thanks for the gift of beautiful football, “ she concluded.
In its response, Dakkada Football Club wrote ” This is very touching. We at Dakkada FC are eternally indebted to you for your unwavering support. Thank you and God bless you. ”
Dakkada FC are placed 9th in group B2 of the 2022/2023 NPFL season. With two games to go, the club is 6-points and a -11 goal difference adrift of safety. Though in with a mathematical chance of survival, the club will require a miraculous run of results to stay up.
