Daniel Daga in talks with Watford FC
Flying Eagles of Nigeria star Daniel Daga is in talks with English Championship club Watford FC for a transfer from Nigerian club FC ONE Rocket.
The defensive midfielder excelled at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup hosted by Argentina and has been on the radar of top European clubs AC Milan and Liverpool.
SportsRation can confirm ongoing talks between the 16-year olds representatives and Watford FC, having been spotted at Vicarage road this past week.
Daniel Daga was in the stands at Vicarage Road last weekend for the English Championship opener between Watford FC and Queens Park Rangers.
According to close sources, the Nigeria Under-20 star has been courted by several clubs since he first helped Nigeria to the WAFU B title back in 2022.
The numbers of interested clubs increased after the FIFA U-20 World Cup with Italian Serie A giants AC Milan scouting him at the tournament and were keen on the move until the departure of Paolo Maldini as the Rosonerri Sporting Director.
Currently on the books of Nigeria National League club FC ONE Rocket, Daniel Daga has received concrete interest from Watford FC reason he travelled to England for further talks and possibly pre-contract agreements.
As of the time of this report, no comments per the transfer has been made by the player, his representatives or Watford FC who suffered Caraboa Cup elimination vs Stevenage on Tuesday August 8.
Meanwhile, Daniel Daga is not the only member of the Coach Ladan Bosso tutored Flying Eagles team on the move this summer.
Several members of that team have completed moves to European Clubs, the latest right-back Solomon Agbalaka who joined Russian outfit PFC Sochi on a season-long loan earlier this week.
