Davido to Headline AFCON 2025 Opening Concert in Rabat

Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has been confirmed as one of the headline performers for the official opening concert of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Confederation of African Football announced this on Thursday as part of activities lined up ahead of Africa’s biggest football tournament.
The concert will take place on Saturday at the OLM Souissi Fan Zone in Rabat, from 6:00 pm to midnight. Entry will be free for fans who have Fan IDs and match tickets, giving supporters a lively build-up to the start of the competition.
Other artists expected to perform include French Montana, Douaa Lahyaoui, Says’z and Lartiste.
Davido’s appearance adds to his long list of performances at major sporting events. Earlier in 2025, he performed at Nigeria’s National Sports Festival in Abeokuta. He also entertained fans at the 2022 FIFA World Cup final in Qatar.
The singer has previously performed at the opening ceremony of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, the 2022 FIFA World Cup draw in Doha, and the 2023 Professional Footballers’ Association awards.
On the pitch, the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will begin on Sunday, with hosts Morocco taking on Comoros in the opening match in Rabat. Group matches will continue the following day as the tournament gathers momentum.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles of Nigeria are now in Fes, where they will play all their group matches against Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda, after completing a four-day training camp in Cairo.
