LeBron James almost carried the Cleveland Cavaliers to a comeback win before they went down to the New Orleans Pelicans 114-108 after overtime.
James had 24 fourth-quarter points as the Cavs rallied from 13 points down at the Smoothie King Center on Friday.
The four-time MVP finished with 37 points, but the Pelicans forced OT after Jrue Holiday hit a three-pointer with eight seconds to go.
James and Richard Jefferson missed potentially game-winning shots and Anthony Davis had six points in OT as the Pelicans ended a four-game losing streak.
Davis, who briefly exited the game with an injury scare, had 31 points and 12 rebounds.
