Manchester City came from behind to secure a huge 2-1 away victory over French giants, Paris Saint Germain in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semifinal encounter at the Parc des Princes.
The home side dominated the opening exchanges, forcing Manchester City to defend deep and leaving them unable to press high up the pitch as a result. Manchester City returned from the break with fire in their bellies as they found their regular playing rhythm and got back on level terms through magician Kevin De Bruyne whose floated cross beat all the players in the box and the goalkeeper to land in the back of the net, making it 1-1 in the 64th minute. The comeback was completed 7 minutes later when Algerian winger, Riyad Mahrez fired home direct from a free kick, squeezing the ball through the wall and into the back of the net as Manchester City closed out an important away win.
Kevin De Bruyne’s goal was only the first Manchester City had ever scored in a Champions League semifinal. The win was Manchester City’s first ever in a Champions League semifinal and puts them on the brink of reaching the final of the tournament in Istanbul.
