Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has seen his superhuman effort in his side’s 5-1 hammering of Wolves put him among the Premier League’s elite goalscorers.
30-year-old Belgian midfielder De Bruyne scored a haul for the champions as they picked up a straightforward win over Wolves at the Molineux on Wednesday. The reigning UEFA Midfielder of the Year completed a hat-trick in the game in only 24 first-half minutes, putting him in the top three quickest hat-trick goalscorers from the start of a game ever in the league’s history.
Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring for Manchester City in the seventh minute of the game before Wolves equalised through Leander Dendoncker. The Belgian midfielder scored in the 16th and 24th minutes before scoring his fourth in the 60th minute. He managed to strike the ball against the frame of goal before Raheem Sterling added a fifth in the 84th minute to seal the result.
His four goals made him only the third midfielder after Frank Lampard and Georginio Wijnaldum to score four goals in a single Premier League match.
