Belgian football star Kevin De Bruyne has made a significant step in his recovery by returning to training with Manchester City during their Club World Cup campaign in Jeddah.
The midfielder has been sidelined for four months due to a hamstring injury.
According to reports from Manchester Evening News, De Bruyne participated in training at the King Abdullah Sports City complex on Monday night alongside his City teammates. This development marks a positive stride in his rehabilitation process following surgery.
De Bruyne sustained the hamstring injury during the opening day of the season in a match against Burnley. His return to training in Jeddah suggests that he is progressing well, although it remains uncertain when he will make a full return to competitive action.
While De Bruyne is unlikely to feature in the upcoming semi-final against Urawa Red Diamonds on Tuesday, his inclusion in the squad for the Club World Cup reflects City’s ambition to secure another trophy in 2023. The final or third/fourth place play-off is scheduled to take place on Friday.
City has faced challenges in the Premier League recently, winning just one of their last six games. The return of De Bruyne, their influential playmaker, is anticipated to provide a valuable boost to the team’s performance in the upcoming fixtures
