Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi has revealed that in-demand midfielder Moises Caicedo is fully focused on staying at the Amex Stadium.
Caicedo has been a subject of interest for Chelsea and Arsenal, The Gunners had a £60m bid rejected on Friday.
Chelsea’s £55m offer was turned down earlier in the week.
“He is a good guy. He is focused only on Brighton.
“I hope he can stay with us until the end of the season because, in my opinion, it is the best solution for him and for us. I spoke with him on Wednesday and I told him my opinion”.
“It is always difficult to change [clubs] inside the season. You can find some problems.
“For our way, it is important for him to stay another four months with us. He is relaxed. I spoke with him on Wednesday and I spoke with him like a father, not like a coach.”
Brighton have already sold Belgian midfielder Leandro Trossard to Arsenal in this transfer window.
The 21-year-old has been impressive for the Seagulls since joining from Independiente del Valle in 2021.
He is expected to play a key role when Brighton welcomes Liverpool to the Amex Stadium on Sunday in the FA Cup.
