Dele-Bashiru Praises Baroni and Shares Celebration Inspiration After Scoring for Lazio

Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has praised Lazio manager Marco Baroni and shared the inspiration behind his goal celebration.

The Nigerian player scored after coming on as a substitute, helping Lazio win 5-1 against Monza at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.

At 24 years old, Dele-Bashiru netted Lazio’s fifth goal two minutes before the final whistle, after replacing Gustav Isaksen in the 65th minute. This brings his total to five goals this season across all competitions, having joined on a season-long loan.

The Super Eagles star credited Baroni’s management for creating a strong team spirit. Dele-Bashiru told Lazio’s official media, “It’s been a perfect week for me. I’m happy with my goal, but the team’s victory is even more important. There’s a great group here, and the coach believes in everyone.”

The Nigerian international also explained the story behind his celebration after scoring. “It started with Noslin when we were playing FIFA. The song the fans dedicated to me? I really enjoy it. The coach and the team have helped me a lot. I’ve improved physically and tactically.”

Dele-Bashiru will be eager to keep up his strong form as Lazio pushes for a top-four finish this season.
