Dennis 7th league goal not enough as Troost-Ekong blunder costs The Hornets
The Nigerian now has contributed 12 goals
Emmanuel Dennis was on target in Watford’s 2-1 loss to Brentford at Brentford Community Stadium in a Premier League game on Friday.
The Nigerian whose great form earned him a nomination for the Premier League player of the month of November continued just where he left it off.
Emmanuel Dennis put Watford ahead after 24 minutes, the Nigerian charged forward to leap over Jansson and power a thunderous header into the back of the net.
This takes his tally to 5 in his last 7 games with goals against United, Leicester City, Chelsea, Everton and only failing to score only against City and Arsenal within the time.
But Pontus Jansson headed home the equalizer in the 84th minute and Bryan Mbeumo converted from the penalty spot in the 95th to hand Brentford the win.
It was William Troost-Ekong error which gifted the home side the penalty. The Nigeria got his sliding challenge on Saman Ghoddos all wrong in the 94th minute, setting Mbeumo up to be the hero.
So far this season, Emmanuel Dennis has scored 7 goals in 15 league games this season, he has also assisted 5 league goals bringing his goal contribution to 12.
Frank Onyeka was introduced in the second half for Brentford in the win.
