Dennis , Ekong in action as Watford hold Ajayi’s West Brom in the English Championship
Super Eagles stars Emmanuel Dennis and Williams Troost-Ekong were in action for Watford in a 1-1 draw vs Semi Ajayi’s West Brom on Monday night .
The English Championship match at the Hawthorns saw Emmanuel Dennis and Semi Ajayi named in their respective clubs starting XI while Williams Troost-Ekong came on a substitute later in the game .
Watford’s Senegalese forward Ismaila Sarr opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a classic finish from the half way line to beat West Brom goalkepeer David Button .
West Brom leveled scores at 1-1 just before the half time break through Karl Grant .
In the second half, Semi Ajayi brought down Ismaila Sarr in the box and the Hornets where awarded a Penalty kick.
Ismaila Sarr’s spot kick was saved by West Brom goalkepeer David Button to deny Watford a second win of the season .
West Brom turned the heat on the Hornets whose manager elected to introduce Super Eagles assistant captain Williams Troost-Ekong for his first appearance of the season in the 83rd minute .
Watford held on for a 1-1 draw as they continue their push for promotion to the English Premier League .
