Dessers and Okereke suffer Serie A relegation with Cremonese
Cremonese who have Nigerian strikers Cyriel Dessers and David Okereke on their books have been confirmed relegated from the Italian Serie A.
A disappointing 2022/2023 Italian Serie A season it has been for Cremonese who have spent all season in the relegation zone.
Cremonese fell 1-5 to Bologna on Saturday but still had a mathematical chance of survival until Sunday May 21 when a draw between Spezia and Lecce confirmed their demotion to the second tier.
A relegation after spending a single season in the top-flight following their promotion at the end of the 2021/2022 Serie B season.
Dessers and Okereke joined Cremonese last summer to boost the team but it has not gone according to plan.
The duo managed 13-goals this season, a return way off their personal best in previous seasons.
Dessers for example finished as UEFA Conference League top-scorer in 2021/2022, helping Feyenoord to the final before returning to Genk.
