Don´t compare me to Jordan- Butler

Jimmy Butler was quick to downplay comparisons to Michael Jordan after topping one of the Chicago Bulls legend’s franchise records on Sunday.

The Bulls looked set for their fifth loss in their past six road games, trailing the Toronto Raptors by 12 at half-time.

Butler had just two points after needing stitches to close a gash in his lip in the second quarter, but he erupted in the second half.

He scored 40 points to lead the Bulls to a 115-113 comeback win, breaking the franchise record set by Jordan, who scored 39 second-half points against the Milwaukee Bucks on February 16, 1988.

“I’m just happy we won, to tell the truth,” Butler said. “I don’t want to be compared to him [Jordan] because you see what he’s done for this game.

“I had no idea [about the record] until somebody told me after the game. I guess somebody will beat it one of these days coming soon.”

A stray elbow to the face from Raptors forward DeMarre Carroll only served to fire Butler up for his explosive exploits.

“I was mad, but I just came out and was aggressive after that,” he said.
