‘Don’t let failure hold you back’ – Ademola Lookman shares inspirimg message after CAF award win
Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman gave an emotional and inspiring speech after winning the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award on Monday night.
The 27-year-old was thrilled to receive the honor, which recognized his amazing year, including helping Nigeria finish second at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and playing a key role in Atalanta’s UEFA Europa League victory.
In his acceptance speech, Lookman expressed his gratitude, saying, “I want to thank God for all the blessings in my life. I also want to thank the Presidents, my teammates, and everyone in my club and country for their support and love.”
Lookman went on to say that winning the award meant a lot to him and his family and was proud to be recognized as Africa’s best player. He also shared a personal story, saying, “Just over four years ago, I failed in front of the world. Now, four years later, I’m the best player in Africa.”
He ended his speech with a powerful message: “To all the young people watching, don’t let your failures hold you back. Turn your pain into strength and keep moving forward. God bless.”
