Dortmund Inch Closer to Bundesliga Triumph as Tuchel Dents Bayern’s Treble Hopes

Sebastian Haller scored two goals, and Julian Brandt added one late in the game to hand Dortmund a 3-0 win at Augsburg and move closer to claiming the Bundesliga title.

After Bayern Munich’s 3-1 home defeat to Leipzig on Saturday, Dortmund knew they had their destinies in their hands and they didn’t disappoint.

Dortmund took advantage of Bayern Munich’s slip to regain the top spot and go two points clear of Bayern Munich with just one game to the end of the season.

As it stands, Dortmund sit comfortably at the top of the table with 70 points from 33 games, while Bayern Munich follow closely with 68 points from 33 games.

Bayern travel to Koln, while Dortmund hosts Mainz in their last game of the season.

Should Bayern Munich miss out on the Bundesliga title, they would have missed out on all three titles they were in contention for, prior to Tuchel’s appointment.
