Draymond Green voices regret over ejection against Orlando Magic
Golden State Warriors’ power forward Draymond Green expressed regret for his ejection during the team’s game against the Orlando Magic on Thursday.
The incident marked Green’s career-high fourth ejection of the season, making him the first player to achieve this feat since Kevin Durant in the 2017-18 season.
Speaking on “The Draymond Green Show” podcast, Green took full responsibility for his actions, acknowledging that the ejection was unwarranted. He admitted, “It just can’t happen. I said what I said. I deserved to be kicked out at that point.” Green elaborated on the situation, explaining that he had intended to angle his body toward the bench while expressing his frustration but ended up speaking prematurely before adjusting his posture.
The ejection occurred after Green directed heated words at referee Ray Acosta following a personal foul call against him. Shortly thereafter, when a shooting foul was called on Stephen Curry, Green confronted Acosta, leading to his expulsion from the game at the 8:24 mark of the first quarter.
Green’s remorse over the incident highlights his commitment to accountability and sportsmanship, despite the intensity of the game. As the Warriors continue their season, Green’s self-reflection serves as a reminder of the importance of composure and discipline on the court.
