Durant: Nobody appreciates Harden but players

Kevin Durant and James Harden have not played on the same team in quite a while, but apparently they are still fond of each other.

New Golden State Warriors star Durant claimed no one appreciates his former Oklahoma City Thunder team-mate, except for otherĀ NBA players.

Speaking of the Houston Rockets guard, Durant said: “Nobody really appreciates what he does except for the players in our league.

“Everybody on the outside doesn’t really appreciate what he brings.”

Durant and Harden played together in Oklahoma City for three seasons before the latter was dealt to the Rockets in October 2012.

Harden went from being a sixth-man to a four-time NBA All-Star after making the move.

However, Durant still does not think Harden gets his due.

“Anybody that can put up 29 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and not make the All-NBA team, thatā€™s like a sin,” Durant said.

“As a player and someone that played with him and a fan of the game I was [angry] because somebody is right here in front of you and you can’t appreciate him. If he were to retire tomorrow, we would have so many stories and videos about how great he is, but he’s here right now doing it. Appreciate what he brings.”

Harden failed to make an All-NBA team last season despite the numbers cited by Durant
