Durant stars as Warriors cruise past Nets, Clippers end Spurs´ streak

Kevin Durant led the Golden State Warriors to a sixth straight NBA win as the San Antonio Spurs’ streak was ended.

Durant and the Warriors did what was expected of them in a 117-101 victory against the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday.

The Spurs had no such luck, suffering just their second road defeat of the season as they went down to the Los Angeles Clippers 106-101.

Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics extended their winning streak to four games.

WARRIORS POWER HOME

The Warriors outscored the Nets 68-36 in the second half.

Durant had 26 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, while Klay Thompson (23 points) and Stephen Curry (15) were good contributors.

Zaza Pachulia had a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds for the Warriors, while Nets center Brook Lopez finished with a game-high 28 points.

SPURS DOWNED

Not even 27 points and nine rebounds from Kawhi Leonard could see the Spurs to a win.

The Clippers got a far more even contribution as Chris Paul led the way with 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

Paul was one of six Clippers with double figures in points, including 14 from Marreese Speights.

CELTICS WIN AGAIN

The Celtics proved too good for the Indiana Pacers in a 109-102 win.

Isaiah Thomas was the star with 28 points and nine assists, while Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder each had 15 points.

The Pacers, who got 31 points from Jeff Teague, scored just nine points in the second quarter.

AIR JORDAN!

KNICKS, HEAT WIN

Serge Ibaka had a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds but the Orlando Magic suffered a 106-95 loss to the New York Knicks.

Justise Winslow (23 points and 13 rebounds) led the Miami Heat past the Los Angeles Lakers 115-107.

THUNDER VISIT CELTICS

Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook and his triple-double show roll into Boston on Friday looking to halt the Celtics’ four-game win streak.
