Edo Queens FC to celebrate WAFU-B victory with trophy parade in Benin City
Newly-crowned champions of the just-concluded CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU-B qualifiers, Edo Queens FC, will hold a trophy parade in Benin City to celebrate their historic victory.
According to the club’s media, the triumphant team and their enthusiastic supporters will take part in a road show, touring the ancient city of Benin to express gratitude to the people for their unwavering support.
The celebration will culminate in a grand reception hosted by the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, along with his wife, Betsy Obaseki, members of the State Executive Council, and the sports-loving citizens of Edo State.
Led by coach Moses Aduku, Edo Queens FC participated in the CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU-B play-off in Côte d’Ivoire, competing against six other West African clubs. After an impressive performance, Edo Queens emerged as champions, securing their place in the final stage of the CAF Women’s Champions League, set to take place in November 2024 in a yet-to-be-decided country.
The trophy parade and reception are expected to be a momentous occasion, celebrating the team’s success and bringing pride to the people of Edo State.
