Effective Rivers United condemn Enugu Rangers to consecutive defeats

Malachi Ohawume, Wasiu Jimoh and Nelson Esor were on target as Rivers United trash Enugu Rangers in a rescheduled game played at Yakubu Gowon Stadium on Thursday.

Rivers United were effective in front of goal on the day as they inflicted another defeat on high Flying Enugu Rangers in the rescheduled game.

Malachi Ohawume opened the scoring in the 36th minute and secondary do half goals from Wasiu Jimoh and Nelson Esor completed the 3-0 rout.

Rivers United scored all three goals from their 3 shots which were on target while Enyimba failed to score from any of their 2 shots that were on target.

The defeat is the second in a row for Enugu Rangers who had earlier gone 13 games without defeat. Despite the loss Rangers remain top of group A with 31 points while Rivers United with 23 points are just 1 point adrift top 3 zone.
