Eguavoen Invites 30 Players for CHAN Qualifier Against Ghana

Super Eagles B coach Augustine Eguavoen has called up 30 players for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Ghana. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is preparing the team for the first phase of the qualification series.

Key Players in the Squad

The squad includes notable players like:

  • Steven Mayo (Rivers United defender)
  • Kayode Bankole (Remo Stars goalkeeper)
  • Sunday Megwo (Abia Warriors striker)
  • Rabiu Ali (Kano Pillars midfielder), who has scored eight goals this season.

Victor Collins from Nasarawa United, who was recently part of the Super Eagles squad for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, is also in the team.

Training Camp Details

All invited players are to report to the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.

Match Dates

  • First Leg: Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium, Ghana.
  • Second Leg: Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, Nigeria.

Past Challenges

Ghana has twice stopped Nigeria from reaching the CHAN finals, in 2009 and 2023. This time, the Super Eagles B aim to turn the tide and secure qualification.
