Eguavoen Invites 35 NPFL players for CHAN Eagles 2025 qualifier against Ghana
Super Eagles B Head Coach Augustine Eguavoen has named a 35-man squad for Nigeria’s 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifying tie against Ghana.
Among the new call-ups are Akwa United’s defender Wisdom Ndon, Remo Stars’ wing-back Ismail Sadiq, Kano Pillars’ forward Zikifilu Rabiu, and Enugu Rangers’ midfielder Kazeem Ogunleye.
The first leg of the qualifier is scheduled for the weekend of 20th – 22nd December 2024, while the return leg will take place a week later. This fixture brings back memories of the last qualification series, where Ghana edged Nigeria on penalties to secure their spot.
The winner over two legs will secure a place in the 8th edition of the CHAN tournament, set to be held across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from 1st – 28th February 2025.
In preparation, the invited players will begin camp in Abuja on Tuesday, 29th October. The squad features a mix of promising talents from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
