Ekong Joins Udinese for a fee in the region of €3.3m

Bursaspor reach agreement with Udinese over William Troost-Ekong transfer
It’s all set for Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong to join Italian club Udinese from Turkish outfit Bursaspor after both clubs reach agreement on a fee.
The 24-year-old defender is reportedly going to Italy’s oldest club for a fee in the region of €3.3m according to reports.
William Troost-Ekong who scored in Bursaspor’s 2-1 away loss to Fernabache in their Turkish League opener will continue his development in Italy after stints at Groningen, Dordrecht, KAA Gent and Haugesund.
Bursaspor and the defender have confirmed the move is in the offing but as at the time of this write-up the Italian club are yet to confirm the transfer.
“Thank you @WTroostEkong ,” reads a tweet from Bursaspor’s official Twitter.
While on his part, the former Netherland youth international penned an emotional letter to Bursaspor’s fans.
“I want to say a big thank you to everyone in Bursa and Bursaspor especially my teammates and staff for everything.
“I will always have great memories of my time in Turkey as a player but also as a man. However, the time has come
for a new step in my career.
“I want to wish Bursaspor a great season and I will now follow the team as a fan. So of course lastly I want to say
a special thank you to Texas and all the fans who supported me and the team. I will remain one of you now. Texasli Ekong.”
William Troost-Ekong was on the pitch in all of Nigeria’s games at the just concluded 2018 World Cup in Russia.
