Ekong wins League title in Greece with PAOK

Nigerian defender, William Troost-Ekong has won the league title in Greece following the success of his club, PAOK Salonika. SportsRation reports.

Despite missing bulk of the second stanza with injury, Nigeria’s Super Eagles defender William Troost Ekong on Sunday clinched the league title with his Greek Club PAOK Salonika, joining in the celebration which marks his first ever in a top-flight league.

Only last week, William Troost-Ekong resumed training with the team after recovering from the injury he sustained while representing Nigeria in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

PAOK on Sunday evening secured a 1-2 away win against Aris Salonika to secure the title.

The Greek side have now won the league title on four occasions. William Troost-Ekong will turn attention to activities marking the launch of his foundation.

The William Troost-Ekong Foundation will be launched with a Charity match on June 2, 2024, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
