Eletu stars in Milan U-19 win, Flying Eagles wait for his arrival
Victor Eletu starred for AC Milan U-19 in a 0-3 win over Hellas Verona U-19 while Nigeria`s Flying Eagles continue in wait for his arrival.
Eletu is the last puzzle in Ladan Bosso`s Nigeria Flying Eagles squad for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina.
The players have been preparing in Argentina since last week. The Flying Eagles have played friendly matches vs Club Almirante Brown and fellow World Cup participants Colombia on Tuesday May 16.
With just four days to Nigeria`s first World Cup group stage game vs Dominican Republic, Eletu is yet to report in camp and instead turned out for Milan U-19.
The Central Midfielder was named in the starting XI for the Rossoneri U19`s over Hellas Verona in their Campionato Primavera on Wednesday May 17.
In the 64th minute, 18-year-old Eletu provided assist for Milan’s second goal, his third goal involvement in four Campionato Primavera matches.
The midfielder’s first goal involvement in the division was against Atalanta on May 3, and then nine days later opened his goal-scoring account in an important match against city rivals Inter Milan, followed by his assist today at Verona.
Despit the midfielders absence, Nigeria U-20 Head coach Ladan Bosso is hoping Eletu will join the team in time for the World Cup.
He will wear the jersey number 10 if he reports for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
