Enyimba FC part ways with 13 players ahead of 2024/2025 NPFL season
With just days remaining before the start of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, Enyimba International FC have confirmed the departure of 13 players from their squad.
Among the notable exits is Super Eagles goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke, who has joined Al Merrikh in Sudan. Other key players who have left the club include Ikenne Cooper and top striker Chijioke Mbaoma.
The full list of departing players also features Desmond Ojietefihan, Anthony Okachi, Chidozie Chilekwu, Ngomere Chisom, Chibuike Nwaiwu, George Owen, MacBen Otika, Uche Collins, Tochukwu Emmanuel, and James Orasonye.
Enyimba FC, widely known as the People’s Elephants, expressed their gratitude to the players for their dedication and contributions to the club during their time in Aba.
As Enyimba prepares for the upcoming season, they are set to face newly promoted Beyond Limit in their opening league match. Also, head coach Yemi Olanrewaju will be making his full debut in charge of the People’s Elephants.
Despite the massive changes, the club will be looking to rebuild and make a strong start as they aim to compete for the NPFL title once again.
