Enyimba returns to domestic action against Wikki, Southwest derby set to hold in Akure

Heartland, Abia Warriors' games to be aired live

Matchday 23 of the NPFL 2020/21 season is set to occur on the 26th and 27th of May. It features a return to the domestic scene for Enyimba after their continental commitments.

Enyimba travels to Bauchi to take on Wikki Tourists at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium. The People’s Elephant are currently in 9th place on the log, having played four games less than their domestic counterparts. They have failed to win any of their last four games in all competitions and will be looking to snap that run on the road against Wikki Tourists, who lost their last game to Plateau United.

Sunshine Stars play host to fellow Southwestern side MFM at the Ondo State Sports Complex as they look to end a miserable run of 15 league games without a win that has seen them slip into the relegation zone in the league. MFM have won each of their last three games and look like a side brimming with confidence under Coach Olakunle Gabriel.

Kwara United FC will be looking for an opportunity to return to the summit of the NPFL when they take on Rivers United at the Kwara State Sports Complex in Ilorin. The Afonja Warriors lost the first leg of the encounter and will indeed be looking at avenging that defeat at home, as well as returning to the top of the log.

Warri Wolves, who are under a new manager, welcome Lobi Stars to the Ozoro Poly Stadium in Delta, where they will look to build on their impressive performance away from home at the weekend with a good win over the Makurdi-based side that lost over the weekend.

Dakkada FC host FC Ifeanyi Ubah at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo. The visitors, buoyed by their first win in 11 matches at the weekend will be looking to claim a rare home scalp against the Chosen Ones.

Kano Pillars will welcome Nasarawa United to the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna for their MD 23 encounter. Both sides are in good form in the league, and the game is expected to be a hugely interesting one. Super Eagles skipper Ahmed Musa is expected to make his third consecutive start for the home side.

Adamawa United host Katsina United at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe. The bottom-placed side showed a lot of grit in their 3-3 draw against Warri Wolves over the weekend and will be hoping for a similar performance against Katsina United who held their own against Kano Pillars at the weekend.

Heartland welcome high-flying Plateau United to their Dan Anyiam Stadium as they look for a win in the game against the Jos-based side to keep them within touching distance of the top end of the table. The game will be broadcast live on NTA and the NPFL.tv app from 4 pm today.

On Thursday, Abia Warriors play host to the league’s leaders, Akwa United at the Okigwe Township Stadium. Both sides were involved in barren draws over the weekend and will be looking for improved performances in front of goal. The game will be aired live on NTA and the NPFL.tv app.

Rangers International will welcome Jigawa Golden Stars to the Cathedral in Enugu for their NPFL MD 23 encounter on Thursday. The Flying Antelopes played out a draw in their last game and will be looking for a win that could turn out to be important for their aspirations this season.
