Following the arrival in Nigeria from Kigali, the Super Eagles had their training session behind closed doors in Uyo on Sunday night with reports stating that head coach Eric Chelle wants reduced access from fans and journalists to the players.
The three-time African champions arrived in Uyo from Kigali on Saturday afternoon.
Nigeria defeated the Amavubi of Rwanda 2-0 on Friday night in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matchday five game at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.
According to the team’s media officer, Promise Efoghe, head coach Eric Chelle has decided to reduce access to the team’s camp. Unlike in the past, Chelle wants to give his players more time to rest and allow his coaching staff to have better communication with the team. The move is aimed at helping the players stay focused ahead of their next match.
The Super Eagles will play against the Warriors of Zimbabwe on Tuesday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Monday’s training session will be opened for the mandatory 15 minutes only, as required.
