Erik Ten Hag vs Ruben Amorim at Manchester United- Who is better? PL legend delivers judgement

Ruben Amorim has now lost seven of the 15 matches he has managed as Manchester United boss. Now a club legend has delivered judgement in a comparison with former manager Erik Ten Hag.

Manchester United’s difficult season took another blow with a 3-1 home defeat to Brighton, which led to strong criticism from Premier League legend Alan Shearer.

Shearer, speaking on The Rest is Football show, suggested that under Amorim, the team has worsened even more compared to their struggles under Erik ten Hag, despite a managerial change meant to improve their form.

The Portuguese manager has used a system with three to five defenders, but Shearer believes it doesn’t suit the team. He said, “They’re actually worse now than they were under Ten Hag because of what this manager wants to do with his system. The players just can’t do it.”

Co-hosts Gary Lineker and Micah Richards also joined the discussion, questioning if Amorim should change his approach to better fit the players. Richards warned that forcing players into a system that doesn’t suit them could lead to failure for Manchester United.

Amorim’s time in charge has brought only three wins in 11 league matches, leaving the team 13th in the Premier League, just one spot higher than when Ten Hag was fired.

After the loss to Brighton, Amorim admitted the team’s poor form, calling them “the worst team in the history of Manchester United” and said, “I am saying that because we have to acknowledge it and change it. We are breaking all the bad records.”

The defeat to Brighton marked Manchester United’s worst home record in 131 years, adding to the pressure on Amorim to find solutions quickly, or risk damaging his reputation and the club’s legacy further.
