Erling Haaland welcomes Semenyo With Banter
Manchester City’s dressing room got its first taste of Antoine Semenyo this week, and it came with plenty of laughter thanks to Erling Haaland.
In a behind the scenes clip from City’s media team, Haaland jokingly introduced a bit of striker rivalry, teasing Semenyo about challenging for the Golden Boot.
“He is coming for my Golden Boot, so he is not going to pass to me!” Haaland said, laughing.
To which Semenyo responded, clearly enjoying the moment.
“Nahhhh… don’t do that now!”
The clip immediately caught fans’ attention online, with many enjoying how quickly Semenyo seems to have settled into the squad.
The new signing, who arrived for a reported £62.5 million after scoring 10 Premier League goals for Bournemouth this season, has already made his impact with a goal in City’s FA Cup win over Exeter.
In another moment from the same video, Semenyo laughed as he asked Bernardo Silva why everyone seemed to be “bullying” him.
Haaland, meanwhile, continues to lead the Premier League Golden Boot race, and City’s recent wins have kept them firmly in the title hunt. The banter suggests a confident, comfortable squad as they push forward into the season.
