Etor Daniel named best player in Oman, dedicates award to late Chinedu Udoji

Al Nasr attacker Etor Daniel who has been named the player of the month in the Omani league has dedicated his award to his former teammate Chinedu Udoji who passed on last week Sunday.

Etor Daniel has been in blistering form in Oman, as he led his Omani club to Sultan Cup semifinal. He scored 2 goals and assisted a goal as his side beat Al Bashira 4-1 on aggregate in the quarterfinals.

Etor Daniel fine form was rewarded as he was named he man of the match in his sides 1-0 victory in the second leg clash against Al Bashira and the player of the month.

Etor Daniel told sportlineng.com from his base in Oman that he is dedicating his awards to late Chinedu Udoji who was his former teammate at Enyimba, the man he described as the one who had his back when no one believed in him.

“I want to dedicate my man of the match and player of the month awards to a brother and friend who passed on.

“It is disheartening that Chinedu Udoji is dead, I wish he was alive to see these awards. Chinedu Udoji believed in me during my low time.

“He believed in my potentials and forced me to see the best in me. May his soul rest in peace, I will miss him.”

Chinedu Udoji passed on after he was involved in a fatal accident on few hours after his former club Emyimba played Kano Pillars his last club before the incident.

Daniel Etor and late Chinedu Udoji played together for three years at Enyimba where they won the Nigeria Professional Football League title, Federation Cup and Super Cup during their time together.
