Europa League champions keen on transfer of Gift Orban
German outfit joins list of clubs eyeing Nigerian goal machine
Nigerian youngster Gift Orban is reportedly on the radar of reigning UEFA Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt ahead of a potential move from KAA Gent this summer.
Orban, who only moved to Gent from Norwegian side Stabaek in January, has impressed greatly for the Belgian side, scoring 20 goals in 20 appearances across all competitions.
The 20-year-old Orban has been named as the club’s Player of the Month twice and holds the record for the fastest hat-trick scored in European club competition ever.
Orban is wanted by Eintracht Frankfurt, who are resigned to losing French striker Randal Kolo Muani this summer amid interest from some of Europe’s biggest sides. Representatives of the German club revealed this during a trip to Nigeria earlier this month, according to Brila.net.
Orban is highly sought-after following his explosive start to life in Belgium. The youngster is wanted by several top clubs, including Chelsea, Lille, AS Monaco, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund, among others.
Gent are reportedly looking for a fee of around €40m for the talented striker who joined them for only €3m four months ago.
Gift Orban will likely not be on the books of Gent for much longer, but the striker must carefully choose his next club to aid his development and make him a better player.
