Everton earned a famous 1–0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday night, despite playing almost the entire match with ten men.
The visitors were reduced to ten players after only 13 minutes when Idrissa Gueye received a straight red card for slapping his own team-mate, Michael Keane, during a moment of frustration. The incident came just minutes after Everton captain Seamus Coleman was forced off with an early injury, leaving the Toffees facing a difficult evening.
However, Everton showed remarkable discipline and determination. Their breakthrough came in the 28th minute when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall produced a superb solo effort. The midfielder dribbled past Bruno Fernandes and Leny Yoro before firing a powerful strike into the top corner, giving goalkeeper Senne Lammens no chance.
Manchester United struggled to create clear openings, and when they did find space, they were stopped by an outstanding performance from Jordan Pickford. The England goalkeeper made several crucial saves, including acrobatic stops to deny Fernandes and Joshua Zirkzee.
Despite United’s pressure, Everton held firm to secure their first win at Old Trafford since 2013. The victory provides a huge boost for David Moyes’ side, who showed resilience and belief even after a chaotic start to the match.
