Everton join race for Kelechi Iheanacho
Everton Football Club have joined the transfer race for Leicester City FC Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho.
This is according to Football Insider who say, Everton FC are prepared to pay fifteen million pounds to Leicester City FC for the services of Iheanacho.
Already linked to Nottingham Forest, Kelechi Iheanacho is considered a good option for Everton FC who struggled to get goals last season, leading to a frantic battle for survival.
Like Iheanacho’s other Premier League suitors Forest, Everton FC survived the drop but will hope to avoid same challenge in the 2023/2024 season.
Leicester City dropped to the English Championship and are facing a potential exodus this summer and so will let the forward leave if a good offer is received.
Iheanacho has a year to go on his current contract and so will bend the Foxes resilience per asking price, else he leaves for free next summer.
The Nigeria Super Eagles striker has made 196 Premier League appearances during stints with Manchester City and later Leicester City FC.
During this time, Iheanacho has scored 42 League goals and assisted 28 others. In the Premier League last season, the 2013 FIFA U-17 Golden Boy had five goals and five to his name.
If he joins Everton FC, Kelechi Iheanacho will join International teammate, Alex Iwobi who was the Toffees best player for the 2022/2023 season.
